the one about feet

i like to rip off the bottoms of my feet
with my fingers.
tear the dirty flesh away
watch, feel
the hard skin peel off
and leave behind
soft, pink, clean.
i like to pile the pieces on the carpet
and see what was once
a part of me.
cooling, stiffening
on the floor like mini corpses.
i pick them up
onebyone
and cup them in my hands.
i like to listen to them falling into the trash
hitting papers like hail on the roof
stomping loudly
like tiny feet
on tin.
